AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT

ROCK STAR GUITAR ACADEMY provides after-school enrichment courses at various Bay Area school locations for students grades 2 - 5 and some first graders upon instructor's approval. There are three sessions per school year with live recitals and recorded video performances at the end of each session. Enrollment in class includes instrument rental and color-coded instruction booklet. Mini-amps are provided for in class practice and rehearsal for advanced students.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:

GUITAR & ROCK BAND -  (Guitars Provided)

Beginning and Intermediate Guitar and Rock Band for students grades 2 - 5 (quick learning 1st graders as well). Students will learn chords, riffs, basic melodies and cover songs using a color-coded curriculum and perform them as a group band.  All guitars are provided for students to take home and practice for the duration of the course.

WORLD DRUMS & PERCUSSION - 

Beginning rhythm and beats for grades 1 - 5.  Students learn Brazilian, Afro-Caribbean & other Latin Beats.  Various percussion toys and drums are available for students to get exposed to different types of drums.

BEGINNING KEYBOARD -  (Keyboards Provided)

Beginning keyboard helping students learn the basics of scales, note reading, melodies and chord inversions using a color-coded curriculum.  Students will learn basic songs and get comfortable navigating their way around a piano. Students are provided with a keyboard to take home and practice for the duration of the course.
